Chinese Panda gold coins have been around since the early 1980’s.  The first Chinese Panda gold coin was created in 1982, and yearly, a new design is made bearing the mark of the Chinese Panda.  Also yearly, hundreds of collectors flock to China to bid at the latest Chinese Panda gold coins or trade their older versions of the coin for a more expensive one.  What makes these Chinese Panda gold coins worth buying is the fact that they last longer and their mintage is a lot smaller compared to other gold coins being circulated around the world.

The 2009 Edition Chinese Panda Gold Coins

This year, there have been a number of variations made of the Chinese Panda gold coins.  They differ in the design that is imprinted on the obverse or heads side of the coin bearing the logo of the Chinese Panda.  Each year the design is different but the image on the opposite side of the coin, where the year is imprinted, remains the same – the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven.

The 2009 edition bears two panda bears on the obverse side and the tails side is still the Hall of Prayer.  These two symbols signify joy and abundance in the Chinese culture, the panda and the Hall of Prayer.  Last year, the Olympics were also held in Beijing, China, and another special edition Chinese gold coin was made especially for that event.  These gold coins and the China Panda gold coins are being traded all over the world, in parts of Europe, Asia, and the United States.
